Anthony Arthur,
author and professor at California State University,
Northridge, will present the David L. Kubal
Memorial Lecture on January 26, 2006 from
6:30pm-9:30pm in the Golden Eagle Ballroom. Professor
Arthur, whose forthcoming book attempts to reappraise the
life and work of Upton Sinclair, plans to discuss Sinclair's
The Jungle as a literary work.

Anthony Arthur is a Fulbright Scholar and the author of
Deliverance at Los Banos and
Bushmaster, both narrative histories of World War II. He is also the author of
The Tailor-King -- The Rise and Fall of the Anabaptist Kingdom of
Munster. At CSUN, he teaches American literature and
has been an exchange professor in Germany, and a visiting professor at the U. S. Air Force Academy.
His forthcoming book, Upton Sinclair: Radical
Innocent, is scheduled to be released by Random House in June,
