Dr. Lagier is very glad to be back in the California State University system: twelve years ago, he came to CSU Fullerton as an exchange student from Paris University, and then received a Master of Arts in French at San Diego State University. He later worked for almost two years as a Linguistic Attaché at the French Consulate in Miami before resuming his graduate work at Princeton University where he was awarded a Ph.D in French in 1996 (his dissertation focused on post WW2 French theater). He worked for two years as a Visiting Assistant Professor at Oberlin College in Ohio. On a more personal side, he also loves playing sports (soccer, tennis, racquetball), reading, and of course, theater and cinema.

Dr. Lagier loves teaching a variety of subjects ranging from language and culture to literature, theater, business French, and cinema.
RESEARCH INTERESTS AND REPRESENTATIVE PUBLICATIONS
Professor Lagier's research interests include 1950's French theater,
contemporary problems of immigration in France, and French cinema. He currently
has a book under contract with Summa: "Le théâtre de la parole-spectacle:
Jacques Audiberti, René de Obaldia, et Jean Tardieu. It is scheduled
to be released in fall 1999
