currently serve as Chair of the Psychology Department and have been a faculty member at CSULA since 1970. I have served as Principal Graduate Advisor and was instrumental in developing the Clinical and Marriage, Family and Child Counselor programs in the department.

I teach a range of clinical coursework including Personality Theory, Abnormal Psychology, Individual Testing and Methods of Personality Assessment, Family Therapy, Counseling Theories as well as Clinical Practicum.

Teaching Interests

y teaching interests have been twofold: one area centers on the training of clinical skills and contemporary issues in health service delivery, the second is focused on computer mediated communication and the use of electronic information resources in the classroom.

T oday's health environment of managed care demands a range of clinical skills such as, understanding personality dynamics, mastery of assessment techniques and interpersonal skills with individuals and families. I particularly enjoy coursework that involves training students in the practical development of these skills that are the foundation of health service delivery in the community.

My most recent interest in the utilization of computers as part of a learning environment is based on the conviction that advanced technological skills holds many new possibilities for learners of the twenty -first century. I believe the development of sophisticated skills in the application of information technology will be the basic requirement of the next generation of professionals in the field of psychology.
