THE WOMEN'S HEALTH PROJECT
The Women's Health Project was established by Dr. Fary Cachelin in Fall 1997. The purpose of the project is to study the occurrence of disordered eating in women of various ethnicities, comparing Caucasian, African-American, Asian and Hispanic women. Currently, very little is known about eating disorders in minority women, particularly Asian and Hispanic women. Research assistants typically attend weekly training meetings, actively recruit participants, and conduct clinical phone interviews. The information collected from this project will promote further research, and help form public policy related to women's health issues.
