A FEW WORDS FROM THE EDITOR ABOUT ANONYMOUS ARTICLES

Carl G. Conklin

The Looking Glass is appreciative of all contributions submitted to us for publication. We are all students contributing our time to make as fine a product as possible. I believe that we have more Newsletter staff than usual, but, there is still much work in putting together the quality product that we intend to present to you.

I have in my possession an anonymous article. I wanted to include the article in this issue. Unfortunately, the article needed some editing, and I did not feel that I could do a proper job of editing the article while maintaining the integrity of the theme.

This is not written to specifically criticize the writer of that article. I had a professor read it and his comment was, "Good point, but it needs to be rewritten." I have all of my articles read two or three times even after I have read them five or six times. The anonymous article carries a good point, but needs assistance.

My suggestion for any article submitted to The Looking Glass is to read and reread your work. Have someone else read it. Take it to the writing lab. and have them assist you. If all else fails, and you desire to remain anonymous, contact me by email so we can discuss the content. I can and will guarantee you total anonymity. Remember... we want your contributions; we need your thoughts.

OUR TIME LINE

The Looking Glass is published during the first half of each quarter; it is to be issued four times a year. Ideally, the time will be within the first two weeks of each quarter. Articles, suggestions, contributions, and comments will be appreciated and accepted at any time during the first nine weeks of the previous quarter. Any contribution received after the cut-off date will appear in the next issue. Our next issue will be published the last week of June or the first week of July. This means that all articles, information, etc. must be submitted to The Looking Glass no later than May 24, 1996. The above information will be listed in each issue of The Looking Glass.

Articles, contributions, or comments may be submitted to: The Looking Glass in the Psychology office in (KHC3062). The exact address is in the box at the bottom of this page. Please submit your contributions in the form of a readable hard copy accompanied by a copy of your contribution on a diskette. We can read ASCII text files, DOS text files, WordPerfect 5.1 for DOS, and WINWORD 2.0 through 6.0.
Many thanks. - Ed.

AND... HERE I GO AGAIN

This may be the first time you have heard this from me. But let me assure you, it will not be the last. "It is my belief that we are not here just to take classes, take grades, take degrees, then go out and take a job. That is just too many takes and not enough gives. We are here to make a contribution, to give and to take. We are here to help and be helped." Maybe, if we listen to the voice of the One who calls, we will make a successful journey; we will achieve our aim.
