Professional Associations The American Sociological
Association (ASA) is the national organization for sociologists. Its
main function revolves around advancing sociology as a scientific
discipline and profession, as well as promoting the uses and contributions
of sociology for society. Towards this end, articulating policy and
implementing programs are given high priority by the Association.
Students who are interested in either presenting a paper or at least attending the sociology conferences should contact Dr. Gretchen Peterson.
