Graduating candidates who were unable to register to participate, and reserve guest tickets, at Grad Fair will be able to register online by simply following the reservation instructions below in the Registration / Ticket Reservation section. Online registration starts on April 2, 2018, at 8 a.m. (PST) until May 4, 2018, at 5 p.m. (PST). After May 4 at 5 p.m. (PST), registration to participate and reservation of guest tickets are no longer be guaranteed.
Guests who are unable to obtain a ticket can view the ceremonies at the Golden Eagle Ballrooms 1 & 2, which is located on the third floor of the Golden Eagle building. Each ceremony will be livestreamed. No tickets are required for this venue. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.

From May 21 – 25, 2018, each ceremony will be livestreamed online. Guests who are unable to attend but would like to view the festivities can visit and watch the ceremonies from their computer, laptop, or mobile device.

Commencement tickets are FREE and are not for sale. Tickets that are sold or bought are not authorized by the University and the authenticity of these tickets cannot be guaranteed. Reports of posted threads with the intention to buy or sell Commencement tickets can lead to invalidation of those tickets by the University. It is the graduating candidate’s responsibility to reserve and distribute tickets to their guests. Each guest attending the ceremonies will need a ticket to enter the gymansium and get seated. Tickets will not be required for children under the age of 2, who can sit comfortably on a parent’s lap for the entire duration of the ceremony. However if a seat is required for the child and/or the child is older than 2 years old, a ticket will be needed. Each ticket has a unique bar code and is specific to a ceremony. Once a bar code has been scanned, any copies of the same ticket will not be valid and will not allow entry into the gymnasium.


Each graduating candidate who reserves their tickets during Grad Fair OR during the online registration period from April 2, 2018, at 8 a.m. (PST) until May 4, 2018, at 5 p.m. (PST) will be allocated between 6 - 8 tickets depending on the size of the college. The maximum ticket allotment per ceremony is listed below. Tickets are specific to a ceremony and are non-transferable to other ceremonies. After the ticketing deadline, participation, guest tickets and ticket allocation are no longer guaranteed.
Maximum Ticket Allocation per Ceremony:
Ceremony 1: 8 tickets
Ceremony 2: 8 tickets
Ceremony 3: 8 tickets
Ceremony 4: 7 tickets
Ceremony 5: 7 tickets
Ceremony 6: 7 tickets
Ceremony 7: 6 tickets
Ceremony 8: 6 tickets
Ceremony 9: 6 tickets
Ceremony 10: 7 tickets
Ceremony 11: 7 tickets
Ceremony 12: 7 tickets
Ceremony 13: 7 tickets
Ceremony 14: 7 tickets

If a candidate has a double major during the same ceremony, the candidate will only receive the maximum allocation as listed. If the candidate has a double major but at two different ceremonies, the candidate can attend both and receive the ticket allocation for each ceremony. Tickets are non-transferable to other ceremonies.


By reserving guest tickets, you are confirming to participate in the 2018 Commencement ceremonies. After the deadline date, candidate participation and reservation of guest tickets will no longer be guaranteed. It is the candidate's responsibility to register to participate and reserve tickets in a timely manner.

The ticketing portal will be available again on Friday, May 11, 2018, starting at 8 a.m. to view or re-print tickets OR to reserve additional tickets if available. Only graduating candidates who reserved tickets during Grad Fair or the ticketing period of April 2 - May 4 will be able to log in on May 11, 2018.
Reserving Commencement Tickets
  1. Click on the ticket icon on the left.
  2. Enter your Cal State LA email address as your username. For DNP candidates, enter the alternate email address that you provided to Cal State LA.
  3. Enter your CIN as your password. For DNP candidates, enter your student I.D. number.
  4. Click on the ceremony or ceremonies that you are assigned to.
  5. Reserve the number of guest tickets you are allotted.
  6. Click on Process Order until reservation is finalized.
  7. To view your ticket reservations, simply click on the "My Tickets" tab on the top bar.


If you need more than the maximum allotted tickets for your ceremony, you may be able to obtain them from fellow graduating candidates who will not use their full allotment.

Starting April 2, 2018, until May 4, 2018, the Cal State LA Alumni Association Facebook page will have a forum for graduating candidates to exchange tickets with one another. In the forum, simply post if you have tickets to exchange OR need tickets. You may only exchange with peers who are participating in the same ceremony. Candidates must print out their extra tickets and exchange them with their fellow candidates at the University-Student Union Lobby Seating Area, Monday - Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Ticket Exchange is not monitored and rely on students observing good judgement and behavior. Tickets that are exchanged are the sole responsibility of the students exchanging the tickets. Any abusive action or behavior by any student should be reported. All issues with fake tickets being distributed result from sold tickets. Again, Commencement tickets are free and the University does not support or authorize the buying or selling of these tickets.We recommend that exchanges ONLY happen during the dates and times listed above at the designated location for your own security and safety. To ensure tickets are valid, make sure to ask for the Ticket Reservation Confirmation code. When tickets are reserved, the candidate is emailed the tickets and the confirmation code is included in the subject line. If you are suspicious the tickets are not valid, please email the confirmation code to to verify. Please note that it can take 48-72 hours to verify.

After the deadline to register to participate in Commencement and reserve guest tickets on May 4, 2018, unclaimed tickets (if any) will be available online on Friday, May 11, 2018, from 8 a.m. (PST) until 5 p.m. (PST). Only graduating candidates who registered to participate in Commencement during Grad Fair or during the online registration from April 2, 2018, until May 4, 2018, will be able to log in to the e-ticket site and claim an additional ticket(s) on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note that extra tickets are not guaranteed to be available for all candidates and ceremonies, and the amount of tickets each candidate is able to reserve will be dependent on what is available.  

IMPORTANT: Please note that extra tickets can only be requested through Ticket Exchange or online on May 11, 2018. Extra tickets are NOT GUARANTEED.

The California State University, Los Angeles Commencement ceremonies  will be photographed and/or recorded. By entering the event space, you agree and grant irrevocable permission to have your likeness, image, voice, and appearance photographed and recorded for commercial purposes and used as embodied in titles TBD whether recorded on or transferred to videotape, film, slides, photographs, audio tapes or other media, now known or later developed, and to be included in a non-commercial promotional and news video.
