- WRDS is an internet-based data management system that allows researches to easily retrieve information from a wide variety of financial, economic, and maketing data sources. The data available through WRDS covers companies, including security prices and trading volume, income and balance sheet items, stock market indices, bond prices and interest rates, mutual fund and stock ownership information, options data and an array of macroeconomic time series, global data, marketing and industry reports.
Undergraduates and Masters Students: access is based on a demonstrated need for a registered class or a course project. Students registered to a class will share a class account username and password assigned by the teaching faculty member. Please contact your faculty member for access.
Faculty and Staff Members: need to sign up for individual accounts. Only CSULA email account can be used for registration.
Steps for signing up faculty and staff individual accounts:
Step 1: Point your web browser to http://wrds-web.wharton.upenn.edu
Step 2: Select the Register tab to register
Step 3: Complete the Account Request form
Step 4: Once you submit an Account Request, an email will be sent to the WRDS representative(s) to approve. After receiving approval, an account will be created and you will receive an email message with a special URL adn instructions for setting the account password and lggin into WRDS.
