Study Areas

studyingStudy Areas. There are more than 1,500 study stations located strategically throughout both Library buildings. Some are individual study carrels the rest are shared seating at large study tables. See the chart below for summary data.

Quiet Study Areas. All stack and study areas are designated quiet and cell phone-free zones. Please report any problems to the staff at the Reference or Loan Desk, 1st Floor Library North

Group Study Rooms. Students studying in groups (minimum of 2 or 3 depending on room) may use the group study rooms located on the following floors of Library North and Library Palmer Wing: A-North, 2nd-North, 3rd-North, 2nd-Palmer, and 4th-Palmer. See the chart below for summary data. These rooms are open and unassigned for the quarter except for the 10th and Finals weeks, when reservations are required. During these two weeks the rooms are reserved in two-hour blocks. Reservations may be made at the Loan Desk, 1st Floor, Library North. See Use of Group Study Rooms for complete conditions of use.
