Undergraduates and Barriers to Digital Information
You are invited to participate in a survey conducted by Romelia Salinas, a UCLA doctoral student sponsored by Professor Clara Chu, to find out what experiences and challenges undergraduate students may encounter in accessing digital information to meet their academic needs. In this study digital information refers to all content accessible electronically, including free Web-based information and Library databases. Your participation in this study is voluntary and you are free to withdraw at any time. Choosing not to participate or withdrawing from this study will not affect your grade or university standing in any way. YOUR RESPONSES WILL BE ANONYMOUS AND TREATED CONFIDENTIALLY. Be assured, no one will be able to identify you from your answers. The researcher does not want to know your name or your address. Answers are submitted without any identifying information entered by you, taken from the website, or from your computer. Therefore, none of the information that you provide can be traced back to you. All results will be reported in totals so no individual will be identifiable.
The results of this research will help inform the University about the particular challenges students may encounter in accessing digital information to meet their academic needs, so that they can address your issues. In doing so, the University and University Library can better support the academic success of all students.
If you volunteer to participate in this study you will be completing a questionnaire which will take about 30 minutes to complete.
If you have any questions or concerns about the research, please feel free to contact me at 323-343-2019 or by email at email@example.com. Thank you for your time, and it is deeply appreciated.
