Phi Sigma Kappa Fraternity was Founded in 1873 at the Massachusetts Agricultural
College in Amherst Massachusetts. The origins of the Cal State L.A. Chapter of
Phi Sigma Kappa (F S K ) derived from a local fraternity known as Rho Delta Chi (R D C ),
which was the first social fraternity on campus. It was not until April 1, 1962
that the Grand Chapter of Phi Sigma Kappa decided to charter a chapter on this campus
designated as the Omega Tetarton Chapter.
Over the years Phi Sigma Kappa has been a leader in the fraternity world.
This leadership has led Phi Sigma Kappa Fraternity to do away with the pledging process.
Once you walk into our chapter house you are treated as an individual, as yourself.
There are neither demeaning tasks to perform nor ways in which you must prove yourself,
simply being yourself and your best is sufficient.
You may think of fraternity life as a typical "Party Animal" lifestyle, but it's not.
Phi Sigma Kappa is exactly what its members make of it. We as brothers are bound by our
Creed and three basic ideas, our three Cardinal Principles.
