Program Description
Offered virtually, and with a mix of mandatory class meetings and those that are taken at your own pace, the courses in the Bilingual Authorization Program are approved by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC). The program is open to practicing teachers in our community with an interest in adding a Bilingual Authorization to their skill set.
Upon completion of the program, teachers will be prepared to develop, implement, and adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to promote student bilingualism, biliteracy, bicognition, and biculturalism in bilingual and dual-language settings. Teachers will also be equipped with the sociohistorical, sociocultural, sociopolitical, and sociolinguistic knowledge necessary to advocate for equity-centered bilingual education.
Please note that priority will be given to credentialed teachers that will be ready to submit their request for an added bilingual authorization at the completion of the program.
