PART 4:

EDITING


This page is intended to help you perform a few basic edits using Final Cut Pro.

 

 



With Final Cut Pro running, choose a clip and double click on it's icon in the Browser window.


This will open the clip in the Viewer window.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Audio clips will display in the Viewer window as audio "waveforms".

Using the controls at the bottom of the Viewer window, navigate through the clip to find the part of it you wish to use.

You can also use keyboard shortcuts to navigate through the clip:

Spacebar = Play, pause

J=Reverse

K=Pause

L=Play

 

Next, mark an "IN-POINT" at the beginning of the part of the clip you wish to use, and an "OUT-POINT" at the end.

 

Mark an "IN-POINT" by pressing the "i" key on the keyboard. ("i" = "IN").

 

Mark an "OUT-POINT" by pressing the "o" key on the keyboard. ("o" = "OUT").
