Cal State L.A. offers a variety of majors leading to bachelor's and master's degrees, and awards more than 3,000 academic degrees annually. A doctorate in Special Education is also offered. Cal State L.A. is located five miles east of the Los Angeles civic center and near the western San Gabriel Valley cities of Alhambra and Monterey Park.
