The California State University, Los Angeles community is deeply saddened by the tragic death of Dr. Glenda L. Vittimberga, a professor of education in the Division of Administration and Counseling, within the Charter College of Education.

Glenda Vittimberga was considered a rising star at the University.  She was only 36 years old and had been promoted to full professor two years ago.

The University has lost a young and vibrant scholar—a woman who dedicated her life to the education of others.  Our heartfelt condolences go out to her family, students, colleagues, neighbors, and all those who knew her.

Counseling for those students and colleagues who knew Dr. Vittimberga will be available through the Division of Administration and Counseling in King Hall C1065 or contact the Division office.

A funeral mass was held for Glenda Vittimberga at her local parish:

Organized by CSULA students, a candlelight vigil was held Tuesday, February 24, at the Free Speech Area on campus.
