CAL STATE L.A. NAMED ACTING VICE PRESIDENT FOR INSTITUTIONAL ADVANCEMENT

Los Angeles, California -- September 24, 1996 -- Monrovia resident Kyle C. Button has been appointed Acting Vice President for Institutional Advancement at California State University, Los Angeles, effective September 3, 1996. Button has been serving as the University's executive director of Development since April, 1996.

Button was development director and director of Corporate and Foundation Relations at CSU Long Beach. He has served as development associate for the California Institute of the Arts, grants coordinator for the New Jersey State Council on the Arts and program development associate for the New York State Council on the Arts, and consulted for the CSU Chancellor's Office, Long Beach Community Improvement League and the City of Pasadena.

Button earned his bachelor's degree in Psychology and English from Colgate University in 1984 and his master's degree in Public Administration from New York University in 1988. He replaces Marilyn Johnson who has resigned as Vice President for Institutional Advancement.
