Cal State L.A. Welcomes New Executive Director of Development
Los Angeles, CA -- May 16, 1996 -- California State University, Los Angeles announces the recent appointment of Monrovia resident Kyle C. Button as Executive Director of Development, effective April 15, 1996.
Kyle C. Button comes to Cal State L.A. from California State University, Long Beach where he was promoted from Director of Development to Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations. He has served as Development Associate for the California Institute of the Arts, Grants Coordinator for the New Jersey State Council on the Arts and Program Development Associate for the New York State Council on the Arts. He has also provided consulting services for the California State University Chancellor's Office, Long Beach Community Improvement League and the City of Pasadena. He is a current member of the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) and the National Society of Fund Raising Executives (NSFRE). Button earned his bachelor's degree in Psychology and English from Colgate University in 1984 and his master's degree in Public Administration from New York University in 1988.
In his new capacity, Button will work with the Vice President for Institutional Advancement to conceptualize, plan and implement a comprehensive fund raising program designed to generate substantially increased interest, involvement and support for the University and its educational, research and community service programs. He will coordinate prospect research, technical services and the activities of CSLA development directors.
