Los Angeles, CA - Louise Ayetotche, current member of the Cal State L.A. Golden Eagles women's track & field team-who is representing her home country, the Ivory Coast, at the 2000 Olympics-ran a national record (Ivory Coast) time of 22.85 in the 200 meter dash. Ayetotche has qualified for the semi-finals. This places her among the top 16 in the world. The semi-finals will be running today in Sydney, Australia.

A business administration major, Ayetotche came to Cal State L.A. from Abilene Christian University, Texas. Her personal bests are 11.35 seconds for the 100 meters and 22.96 seconds for the 200 meters. These times place her on the IAAF (governing body of track and field) world top 50 list. She has two years of eligibility left and is the top female sprinter in NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) Division II.
