ACCESS Center to Reunite RIMSA Kids at
California State University, Los Angeles

On Saturday, June 15th, over 100 seventh and eighth grade graduates of the Residential Intensive Math and Science Academy (RIMSA) will be brought together to share in outdoor math and science lab experiments supervised by Cal State L.A. faculty.

This event is part of a continuing program sponsored by the CSLA ACCESS Center to provide economically disadvantaged middle school students with the academic foundation and enthusiasm they need to succeed in both high school and college.

Because of the ACCESS Center's success in improving the educational performance and opportunities of these students, Councilwomen Rita Walters and other city representatives will be present to observe the activities and interact with the students and their parents.

The festivities will begin on the CSLA campus at 9:00 AM with alternating math and science activities and will end at 4:30 PM with the presentation of certificates of achievement to the students.

For more information, call: Jacques Bordeaux, Technical Director for the ACCESS Center at CSLA, or Irene Paleyo, Program Coordinator, at (323) 343-5173.
