Cal State L.A.Âs Nursing Graduate Program
Receives Top National Ranking
Los Angeles, CA  U.S. News and World Report continues to rank Cal State L.A.Âs nursing masterÂs degree program among the top in the nation. CSULA's nursing graduate program is one of only threeÂalong with UCLA and USCÂin the Los Angeles area, and the top-ranked CSU campus leading CSU San Diego and CSU San Francisco on the 2007 ÂAmericaÂs Best Graduate Schools edition.
U.S.News says its Ârankings are based solely on the results of peer assessment surveys sent to deans, other administrators, and/or faculty at accredited degree programs or schools in each discipline. Scores for each school were determined by computing a trimmed mean (eliminating the two highest and lowest responses) of the ratings of all respondents who rated that school; scores were then sorted in descending order. Those schools with the highest average appear here.Â
In the fall of 2002, surveys were conducted for 2003 rankings of masterÂs programs in nursing accredited by either the Commission on Collegiate Nursing or the National League for Nursing Accredited Commission. All of the peer assessment surveys were conducted by the market research firm, Synovate.
The Cal State L.A. nursing program has been in existence as a department since the late 1960s and has been a unit in the College of Health and Human Services since its inception. CSULA nursing programs are approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing and received continuing accreditation from the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC).
Since 2000, when it began surveying nursing graduate programs, U.S. News and World Report has listed Cal State L.A.Âs nursing graduate program among the top five programs in California and the highest ranked CSU system School of Nursing.
