Lecturer: Temporary faculty positions with the possibility of renewal for additional semesters.
On-going. Positions will be filled as needed for each academic semester.
Candidate must have a master’s degree in English or in a closely related field from an accredited university.
Demonstrated excellence in teaching at a college level.
Applicants should have the ability to relate well to others within the academic environment. For writing courses, the following is preferred: training and experience in teaching writing at all levels from basic to advanced; training and experience in assessing writing; training and experience in teaching critical thinking and writing and technical writing.
For linguistics and literature courses ranging from general education through upper division major courses, preference will be given to applicants whose training and experience fills existing gaps in the department, including in the areas of African American Literatures, Latinx Literatures, and Creative Writing.
Preference will also be given for an appropriate doctoral or terminal degree, if applicable to the particular courses to be staffed. Preference will also be given to faculty with experience demonstrating the relevance of English studies to our diverse student and local communities, whether through community engagement, equity- and justice-based approaches to teaching, or racially and ethnically conscious pedagogies.
Faculty will teach courses and be available for office hours , and, when applicable, be available to participate in mid-term and end-of-term course and program assessment activities.
Initial salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
