Fundamental principles of statics, resolution and composition of forces, algebraic and graphic solutions, friction, center of gravity, moment of inertia.

**CE/ME 205 Strength of Materials I (4)**

*Prerequisites: MATH 208.*

Stresses and strains under axial, sharing, and torsional forces; flexural stresses and deflections of simple beams; columns; and combined stresses.

**ENGR 207 Materials Science and Engineering (4)**

Functions, graphs, conics, limits, continuity and derivatives, anti-differentiation, and applications.

**MATH 207 Calculus II: Integration (4)**

The definite integral, fundamental Theorem of the Calculus, transcendental functions, methods of integration, applications to physics and biology.

Limits of sequences and series, indeterminate forms, Taylor Series, plane coordinate systems, and change of coordinates.

Three-dimensional analytic geometry, partial differentiation, multiple integration, spherical and cylindrical coordinate systems, improper integrals.
