2017-18 Fall Theatre Audition Information

Cal State LA - Fall Theatre Auditions

All Cal State LA students from ALL majors are welcome to audition.

These auditions are mandatory for Theatre and Dance majors with an option in Performance and all MFA Actors.

Auditions will be attended by the TAD Faculty and Directors of the Fall and Spring productions.

WHEN:  Thursday, August 24 from 5-9pm

                 and Friday, August 25  from 1-4pm

 

WHERE:  Arena Theatre (MUS 101)

 

WHAT TO BRING: 

Please  bring headshots/resumes if you have them.

Prepare one monologue - 2–3 minutes/or 2 short monologues (total time not to exceed 3 minutes).

If you do not have a monologue prepared and memorized, we will have material for you to read.  

(It is much better to come prepared with something than to cold read.)

  • Hamlet (Spring 18) - directed by Theresa Larkin
  • Sigrid Gilmer play project (Fall/Spring)
  • John and Yoko (thesis piece Spring) - directed by Steve Rothman

Spring productions will be present (Hamlet, New Plays Festival, etc…) but not holding call backs until later in Fall semester.

Please come at least 15 minutes prior to your audition time.  

 

You will need to check in with the monitor, fill out whatever additional forms you need to fill out, and get ready.  

 

You never know when we will be running early and having you there will make things easier! 

 

We will be taking photos of all who come to audition.
