Silvia L. Martin is an Assistant Professor of International Business and Marketing at California State University LA. She holds a PhD from Cardiff University, UK. Her research interests lie in International Marketing, International Business, Marketing Management and Strategy. Her research has been published in a number of journals including the Journal of International Marketing and the Journal of Business Research, as well as in several peer-reviewed conference proceedings. Her articles have received best paper awards from the American Marketing Association, the McGraw-Hill Distinguished Paper Award from the Federation of Business Disciplines, and the Association of Collegiate Marketing Educators.
Dr. Martin has served as reviewer of the Journal of International Marketing, Journal of Business Research, American Marketing Association Educators Conferences, and the Association of Collegiate Marketing Educators, Federation of Business Disciplines. Her service to the discipline includes Track Chair in the 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015 Conference of the Association of Collegiate Marketing Educators, Federation of Business Disciplines.
Dr. Martin has taught a variety of courses including Principles of Marketing, International Marketing, Marketing Research, and Marketing Management at the undergraduate and graduate levels, as well as in the Executive programs.
Dr. Martin has extensive international teaching experience teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in U.K. (University of Bath, Cardiff University, and Bristol Business School), in France (Institut Commercial du Nancy), Italy (La Salle University), and Mexico (Instituto Tecnologico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey-Tec de Monterrey, Instituto Tecnologico Autonomo de Mexico-ITAM). Her prior professional experience includes working as a marketing manager at a consultancy firm.
