About the Pacific Contemporary Music Center

The mission of the Pacific Contemporary Music Center of California State University, Los Angeles (PCMC) is to raises awareness of recent music from around the world and specifically to increase visibility of living composers from the Pacific Rim and Latin America regions. The PCMC is committed to presenting to its constituent audience a wide variety of music from around the world. Through a variety of activities, including recitals, public forums and outreach activities, the PCMC reaches both a community of regular concert-goers and communities who are not exposed to music of this kind on a regular basis. The greater community of CSULA has enjoyed regular events including performances and master classes by violist Hong Mei Xiao and bass-baritone Nicholas Isherwood, workshops with Interensemble (Italy) and the Robin Cox Ensemble, premieres  of Antoine Bonnet (France) and Chinary Ung, and presentations promoting the archive of American composer Roy Harris, housed at CSULA.
