As a Southern California native, Joy moved to Anaheim in 1958, earned her Bachelor's degree from Cal State Fullerton, and earned her Master's degree at USC. She has worked in positions such as the Business Librarian in Santa Ana, and an Administrator at LOCNET, a federally-funded multitype network encompassing over 300 libraries in Orange County. Currently, Joy is the Manager of the Technical Information Center with Hunt-Wesson, Inc. Joy's activities include training and showing horses, reading, gardening, shooting, travel and scuba diving. By completing the Coro training, Joy hopes to learn the requisite skills and qualities to assume and offer direction and guidance to those in the community. She also hopes to improve her ability to communicate and work with others, and to help others adopt a more participatory role in the community.
