Date and Time
The Cal State LA community is invited to join a conversation with Washington Post columnist E.J. Dionne and Harvard fellow Miles Rapoport, who will discuss their new book 100% Democracy: The Case for Universal Voting. The authors will describe universal voting policies around the world and how similar policies might be adopted in the United States. Is it time for the U.S. to take a major leap forward and recognize voting as both a fundamental civil right and a solemn civic duty?
This event is co-sponsored by the Cal State LA Department of Political Science, the Pat Brown Institute for Public Affairs, and Associated Students, Inc. (ASI).
Miles Rapoport is the senior practice fellow in American democracy at the Ash Center for Democratic Governance and Innovation at the Harvard University Kennedy School of Government. He formerly served in the Connecticut State Legislature and as Connecticut's secretary of state. He also served as president of Demos and of Common Cause.
