University Library, Music and Media Center: Information for Faculty

Music & Media Center

Using the media collections:

Media materials may be booked for classroom use. Faculty are encouraged to pre-book media at least 7 days in advance of its showing, to ensure the availability of the title for a specific day and time. Without advanced booking, materials are available on a first come, first-use basis.  For additional borrowing information, please see: Policies and Use of Collections.

Media materials may be returned anytime, using the "Media Drop" slot located in front of the Music & Media Center Service desk, Library North 3rd floor.   Please do not place media materials in the book drop.

Placing media materials on Course Reserve:

Faculty may request to have media materials (library-owned or your personal copies) placed on reserve at the Circulation Desk for one quarter.  Items on reserve are restricted to library use only. Reserve materials are listed in the library catalog by course number and professor name.  Students locate reserve materials by using the Reserves Search in the Library Catalog.

*If an item is on course reserve, a faculty member may borrow the item for use in a class, but is encouraged to return it immediately after use.
