This webinar will provide participants with the necessary tools to effectively implement a solid foundation of employee support, as businesses adapt to our society’s new normal.

Mike Daniel is the Regional Director of the Orange County Inland Empire SBDC Network, which assists aspiring entrepreneurs and current business owners throughout Orange, San Bernardino, and Riverside Counties. The Network consists of eight service centers, and more than 100 employees and contractors that provide service to the business community. Prior to his current role, Mike was the director of the SBDC office at Long Beach City College from 2010 to June 2015. 


As a business owner and entrepreneur, Mike started his career as the owner of a Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory location in Manhattan Beach, and has since gone on to open additional locations throughout the region. Mike is also the owner of Sugar Daddies Sweet Shoppe in Long Beach, CA, which is based on “fill-it yourself” candy options.

Photo of Jonna Fries, SpeakerJonna Fries, Psy.D., is a psychologist and Director of Counseling and Psychological Services at Cal State LA. An EMDRIA Approved Consultant and Facilitator, and Adjunct Associate Professor at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, she is also a Certified Integrative Body Psychotherapist and Instructor and Chair of the IAEDP Peer Consultation Group.  Dr. Fries also has a private practice in Los Angeles, focusing on trauma, eating disorders, and couples and is co-editor of Eating Disorders in Special Populations: Medical, Nutritional, and Psychological Treatments (2018). ​

Marla A. Parker, Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science at Cal State LA. She has held positions on  several campus leadership teams to create, implement and consult on Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB).  In addition she has taken part in a nationwide research project on effective cultural competency pedagogy in graduate public affairs education. She is also founder of Sounding Board Solutions, a consulting company with a focus on DEIB services. Dr. Parker has given DEIB lectures, presentations and workshops across the country. She received her master's and doctoral degrees in public administration from the University of Illinois at Chicago, with an emphasis on the role of STEM policy in diversifying science faculty.
