The California State University, Los Angeles community is deeply saddened by the tragic death of Dr. Glenda Vittimberga, a professor of education in the Division of Administration and Counseling, within the Charter College of Education.
Many of Dr. Vittimberga's colleagues and students are just learning about the devastating event that occurred at her home in Pasadena this past weekend, and the Division is still in the process of letting others in the campus community know.
Glenda Vittimberga was considered a rising star at the University. She was only 37 years old and had been promoted to full professor two years ago.
The University has lost a young and vibrant scholar-a woman who dedicated her life to the education of others. Our heartfelt condolences go out to her family, students, colleagues, neighbors, and all those who knew her.
Counseling for those students and colleagues who knew Dr. Vittimberga will be available through the Division of Administration and Counseling in King Hall C1065 or contact the Division office. Information regarding a Cal State L.A. memorial service will be forthcoming.
