EXPERTS GUIDE FOR THE MEDIA
Los Angeles, California -- Friday, April 18, 1997 -- California State University, Los Angeles-the first CSU campus to have developed a fully web-linked faculty experts guide for the media-announces its newly updated Guide to the Experts at Cal State L.A.
This electronic guide to Cal State L.A.'s experts lists more than 360 professors who have indicated that they are willing to speak to the media. Two methods of access are available: the "hot topics" index acts as a quick directory for writers and reporters needing information on late-breaking news items and current affairs issues; the full department directory allows reporters and researchers to "browse" among the variety of resources at the University. The site has already proven highly effective as a service to journalists since its placement on the Web in April, 1996. In fact, the CSU office has recently developed an experts guide web site which provides a sampling of experts from 20 campuses. The CSU Experts Guide home page also has a hyperlink to Cal State L.A.'s experts guide.
The Guide to the Experts at Cal State L.A. is easily accessible through Cal State L.A.'s Media Relations page on the World Wide Web </ppa/media/jourpage.htm>. Links to the Cal State L.A. Home Page, calendar of events and University data are also available.
